Casey | UWM MODEL

A fresh muse in the nick of time.

I didn't know at the time how much she would help me. After my college graduation, I was looking for something fresh. I could draw at MIAD for a few dollars a session, but I had just drawn the full MIAD stable of figure models for 7 hours every Friday for the last 4 years. I wanted to see some new faces and meet some new people that would spark another creative run.

In my typical drawing experience, I would be drawing an older model with a bunch of fellow students my age. UWM Friday's were a wonderful reverse. There the fellow drawers were mostly older and the models ranged in age. As for Casey, it appeared as if she could have been a student at the college. It was the first time that I was able to draw a young model over multiple sessions. Her poses weren't robotic from years of posing and she didn't shy away from a wide variety of poses that might be uncomfortable.
