Mary | MIAD MODEL

We met during my portrait phase

There is something about Mary and it showed in the portraits. When I talk about moods and how it can affect the drawing, Mary might be the exception. Outwardly, she wasn't approachable for me. But I always felt there were a few layers of emotion under the gaze. I could also be injecting a lot of my emotions on to her.

Either way, the drawings are some of my favorite portraits. It was the first time I merged three poses together into one portrait. The softness and the abstract marks allow these features to float in and out of the work.
